St John's Wort is most frequently used
to treat mild depression. It has been used to treat other conditions associated
with depression, including anxiety, stress, PMS, chronic pain or seasonal
affective disorder (SAD). It can also help promote sound sleep.
Not to be used during pregnancy or breast-feeding or when being treated with
therapeutic ultraviolet light. People with fair skins are advised to avoid
prolonged exposure to sunlight while taking St John's Wort. Always consult your
doctor before taking prescribed anti-depressants and St John's Wort together.
